Awards Program Description and Benefits of Entering:

 

2009 Home of the YearThe Best in American Living Awards, BALA, spotlight the most creative and innovative builders, designers, developers, land planners and interior designers in the nation. Every year, BALA winners redefine design excellence for the residential building industry. The awards program, sponsored by NAHB Design Committee, is open to builders, architects, designers, developers, land planners and interior designers nationwide.  The winners will be announced during the NAHB International Builders’ Show.® After the show, the names of the BALA winners will be posted on nahb.org for up to one year.

2010 Judging Criteria 

 

In addition to the 32 Award Categories, one winner in each of nine geographic regions will receive a Best in Region Award (all entries are entered automatically in their appropriate regional competitions). Finally, Home of the Year, selected from the winners of Categories 1-14, Room of the Year, selected from winners of Categories 15-20 and 28-30, and Community of the Year, selected from the winners of Categories 24-27, may also be awarded.
